Magna Defenders story-line Sentai vs Power Rangers (random topic)

In Gingaman,Magna Defender's Sentai counterpart had lost his little brother to the main villain (paralleling the Red Ranger's own story?) and in Power Ranger's he lost his son. It just seemed kind of interesting that Power Rangers would one up Sentai and make the situation a lot more dramatic.

No doubt I'm sure it likely also had to do with the fact that a "brother" had already been lost so it's possible they didn't want to repeat themselves with the whole Mike and Leo thing.
