If Kaitlin 1 died....

Lets say Kaitlin split off from Kaitlin two in battle and ended up getting killed. Assuming she'd survive....Would Kaitlin 2 still be Kaitlin? Would she have all of Kaitlin's memories and be able to just keep living her life? Or would she be her own person that would be different from the original Kaitlin?

Kaitlin is Kaitlin regardless if her personality changes.

When they rejoin, their memories combine. So if one Kaitlin was destroyed, she'd simply lose Double mode, and the unmorphed Kaitlin would still be the same person.
