View Full Version : Zordon as evil

There seems to be a sentiment here that Zordon was somehow on the side of evil. I know that its really only a few members here but I just think its worth making a thread about. The idea seems ridiculous and unfounded to me.

Zordon's Legacy Exposed

I don't know if I would go as far as to say he was a member of the UAE like Ranger Master. But I agree with him being secretly sinster and selfish. He had his own agenda. I don't think he thought of himself as evil.Just that the end justified the means. He also didn't view humans as anything but lower life forms for him to eliminate. Or course this makes him as harmful to the universe as Spector in a lot of ways.

Some fans just like to sprout off the fanon nosense that leads to their own fan fics as fact. I do see where Zordon could be a bit of a jerk at times. But saying he was outright evil or a member of the UAE at any point is all made up.

I think the idea would be a big violation on continuity and would completely contradict the on screen canon.

Wow now this one takes the cake for fan theories!

Zordon isn't evil..He was just a mastermind. His intentions were always good.

Its too bad Saban was too cheap to show us with Eltar was like.

Sentai Envy

On the contrary, they should have been cheaper and just imported Sentai as it was instead of trying to Americanize it.

I don't think Saban ever truely understood Sentai. I do give him credit for importing it to begin with. Can't take that away from him.

Don't give him too much credit. Toei would have found a way to import Sentai to America. We would probably be getting dubbed Sentai if it wasn''t for Saban.

Zordon isn't evil! He is one of the most purely good characters ever on the show.

Zordon being evil is a big stretch. He sacrificed himself in Countdown and purified all the villains.

Itzy Bitzy Carter

Zordon is even more or a goody two shoes than Carter. But not nearly as annoying.

Saban should get all the credit for bringing PR over and saving it from cancellation years later.

not a good idea since dubs of foreign live action shows just don't work. No station would have allowed it not a single one not even Fox Kids. Saban was having a hard time even getting them to take Power Rangers as it was they only got lucky because of who the President of Fox Kids was. Margaret Loesch was the only one who agreed to test it out despite no one in her circle agreeing with her decision.

Super Sentai wouldn't have worked on national television in dubbed form. Adapting into PR was the way to go. Especially since there was more english speaking countries to market too. Super Sentai has really never been marketed outside of the far east by itself. Its only now that we are.getting Shout.Factory DVDs. And thats because of PR's popularity.

The funny part is...If it wasn't for PR none of us would even have been exposed to Sentai. Including the Sentai Snobs.

Why can't both shows just co-exist without us fighting over them. Both have clearly served each other well. Even if you don't like both.

I wouldn't go that far. Zordon did have a certain ruthlessness and willinges to do whatever it took to accomplish his goals . All for the greater good from his prespective.

This...There is nothing on the show to back this up. In fact we have more evidence that he is really good.

Zordon was a complex character and certainly not an open book. But he demonstrated nothing that didn't show him to be firmly on the site of good. To say he was part of the UAE is nonsense, to be honest with you all.

I think Zordon was easy to see through. He was such a loving mentor, the Rangers were like his children. He would never do anything to hurt them. He really cared about them and really the whole human race.

I don't think Zordon was evil. Its possible he could have been evil in the past but there is no way to prove that. I do think Zordon had a lot more to him that meant the eye. He definitely had a lot of covert activities going on. He was on the side of good no doubt.
