Rito a wasted character

I was just thinking about how he could have been a much more serious villain, who rivaled Zedd and Rita. He was Rita's brother and had an important counterpart in Kukuranger. He debuted by introducint the Tengas and taking out the Thunderzords...Why make him a buffon?

I think you make some good points. They already dumbed down Goldar so they didn't need a another comic relief villain.

I think Rito was fine just the way he is. He wasn't supposed to be a big bad. He was a henchman that just happened to be Rita's brother. And he did have tremendous strength to make up for his low iq.

Not true! Saban spent a lot of money in MMPR and had a lot of original footage. Having Rito as a comedic from villain was probably a creatice decision on Saban's part.

Rito was sent by Master Vile to sabotage Zedd until he could arrive. Rito was too stupid to realize this and believed her was there to help.

I would have liked a more serious Rito.

Rito never thrilled me. He destroyed the Thunderzords and never did much since than. It's not like Goldar needed him to destroy the Command Center. And don't even get me started about their Zeo storyline. Rito would have been better as a more serious character.

He was what he was. I don't think he was ever going mto be a focal point.

He was okay but I don't know if making him more serious would help.

Rito was once intellegent and more devious than Zedd. But something happened to him to make him lose this.

He was wasted in American Sentai, since he played a much bigger role in Kukuranger

I would have been down with a more serious Rito. Maybe he could have knocked Tommy's but for a change.

He wasn't funny at all.

I like him just the way he was. He was funny yet still formidable. He did take out the Thunderzords afterall.
