They never made it clear where exactly Diabolico took him after the accident. Plus he seemed to he out of body. Yet he looks and acts like he has been a perfectly healthy adjusted young man. Aside from the anger issues with his family. He also blends into society very well.

Diabolico used his magic to give Ryan his physical form. He left him inthe foster system and hid him from Mitchell. Ryan believed his family abdandoned him, so he didn't go looking for them. Dolibolico communicated with Ryan in his astral form. Once the demons were free Ryan worked with them. His main task being to get to the new Titanium Morpher.

Ryan was a living ghost that was given a physical form when the demons were unleashed. He grew up in the same prison the demons were trapped in. Its just hard for him to remember every detail. Since its hard to process for the human mind. He was able to adjust to life on Earth quickly. But remember he had the first several weeks the demons were free to adjust to the human world.

At the time just confused me as well. Since like it has been pointed out Ryan was very well adjusted. You would think he would behave more like a demon and feel out of place with the humans....At least at first. It was almost like Diabolico recruited Ryan just before the events of the Titanium Saga. But we know Diabolico got him as a young kid. Unless the hiding him with a foster family idea from someone above applies? That is hard to comprehend.

Ryan doesn't even feel like he lived with the demons once he joins Lightspeed. You wouldn't know Diabolico even raised him if it weren't for his intimate knowledge of the demon's inner workings he shared from time to time. I also think it was strange Dolibolico didn't have some sort of twisted Father like relationship with him. Even if it was pretend all along.

Ryan was put in status where is mind and body were allowed to grow. Dolibolico woke him up as an adult and made him think his family forgot about him.

Anyone find it odd that Diabolico was even able to confront Mitchell. The demons were still trapped?

He astrally projected himself outside of the prison. He couldn't do much but make shady deals with mortals.

The whole thing made no sense . It was one of the weaker elements of LR. Ryan as an antagonist for the Rangers was an interesting idea. Its just that the backstory made no sense.

I don't think it really has to make sense. Ryan was just cool as the Titanium Ranger. And that's good enough for me.

I do think it would have been better to have Ryan end up as a villain for most of the season. It would have solved the footage issues.

That would have been a good idea. If they were willing to film enough ground battles it would have been doable. Plus you could have had a lot of character scenes with Ryan un-morphed. It probably would have made more sense to tell his story over several episodes than just having him turn to the Rangers like he never spent time with the demons.

Ryan had PSD. We never saw his true inner turmoil on screen. The only thing keeping him going was his family and the mission to stop the demons. Since he did so much evil for them when he was with them. He was never really even punished, which had to make Ryan feel guilty. He was kept safe my Mitchell. The years after LR probably saw Ryan have to go through tons of therapy. But with his family by his side, he still had a good chance of recovery.

Mitchell had his own issues too. So they both needed each other.

The astral projection idea for Diabolicoleaving the tomb makes a ton of sense. I think Ryan most likely existed in Astral Form until the demons were freed at the beginning of Lightspeed.

What if Ryan isn't really Ryan. Diabolico tricked Mitchell into believing he had a son and gave him false memories. He did the same to Ryan to manipulate him into helping. This is why Ryan turned so fast and why he was so well adjusted.

Good topic. Didn't Diabolico's VA mention that he thought the demon loved Ryan as a pet. And thought he needed to be put down once he defied him? Not examining this issue is one of the biggest regrets I have with Lightspeed. Even thought its one of my favorite seasons.

If Diabolico really thought that way he didn't truly love Ryan. If Ryan was a cherished pet he would have tried to sway him back to his side to "save him". In the end the evil lord thought nothing of him and hated him in the end if anything.

I agree. I can't defend Ryan's actions with the demons. But Diabolico was definitely even more evil. And out for himself above all others.
