Is Movie Kim unredeemable?

I really enjoyed her character. But the fact she sent a nude picture and her victim is treated like the bully seems to rub people the wrong way. Some say she is irredeemable as a character for her actions..So I thought it would make a good discussion.

Absolutely irredeemable. Its one of the worst parts of the movie. It makes me hate the new Kimberly. Which is unfathomable for someone like me that cherishes the original Kim.

They probably had an idea for Kim to be a ostracized popular girl looking for redemption and just executed the backstory poorly..

I think her friend must have done something just as bad. It doesn't make what Kimberly did ok. But gives us a reason why we are. supposed to not like her friend.

Kimberly herself feels bad about her behaviour and it's part of why she is so down. Her desire for redemption is part of her journey and the reason why she is no longer a mean girl. I do think they left it too ambiguous to why Kim sent the photo in the first place. And with the negative light said friend was portrayed seems to have opened things up for the victim shaming interpretation. Having the two antagonist cheerleaders be co offenders that for away with it and turned on Kim would have worked better for what they were going for. Having one of them being the victim of the photo sharing made her too sympathetic.

Maybe they should have had Trini be the victim? So she could make it up to her?

That would have been hard for them to end up as friends though. Maybe if it was the girls that sent the photo and not Kim. But Kim somehow got in trouble for it. That way Trini could still become friends with Kim in the end.

I think she made a stupid mistake like a lot of kids do and feels bad for it. I Don't think the picture was as bad as some are making it out to be. It was still crossing the line from Kim but I don't think it was literally her friend engaging in sexual activity. I also think her friend probably did something heinous herself , Kim just took her revenge way too far.

It was pretty mean what she did to her friend. I know she is sorry but she shouldn't be acting like her friend is the bully.

She needs to change her attitude. If she is truly sorry she needs to stop making her victim out to be the bully. I don't blame her friends for cutting her off after what she did.

Her friends still shouldn't have confronted her like they did..Just ignore her and let the school administrators handle things.

Maybe its like the mirror universe. In our PRU Kimberly in amazing person and Kat is a conniving villain, in the Movie Universe Kim is evil and the future Kat will be good.

I think she was just confused. The whole thing was probably a petty high school thing where both sides did bad things. Kim realized she went to far and decided to change.
