Sailor Moon is a classic example of Magical Girl anime. They transform, they kick butt, and they do it in outfits which wouldn't lead you to believe they're capable of protecting them from harm whatsoever. And through it all, the storyline and characterization are just plain captivating. I don't just like Sailor Moon, it's one of my favorite anime ever.
That said, I've been completely unable to find interest in anything like it. I've watched Mew Mew Power, Magical DoReMi, Winx Club, W.I.T.C.H., and I get nothing out of them. They feel completely superficial.
I don't know, maybe I'm just picky. Does anybody else like shows they've seen which fit the Magical Girl category?
