Need some help with a custom power rangers/Sentai team

I only know a little about what I'm looking for and I need help expanding the idea.

here is what I know.

I would like it to harken back to the old Power Ranger days. named DinoForce. These are all based on cretacous era Dinos.

colours of the team are:
red-male-Sword-Enhanced Strength-Tyrannosaurs- Justin Hopkins-24---------->\ Dating
pink-female-Bow-Flight-Pteradactyl-Marlyn Munoz-22 ------------------------->/ Dating
blue-male-Shield-Enhanced Durability-Tricertops-Nicholas Marrero-23----------->\Married
yellow-female-Daggers-Enhanced Speed-Kati Marreo-21 ----------------------->/Married

6th will be kamen rider type or mammal from another period.
they will be dinsuar based (and only dinos so no sabretooth tigers or mastadons) and a mix of the classic and dinothunder.
They got their abilities when they were summoned by a wise old man, they were each chosen by an ancient piece of amber. when touched they were gifted with a special ability.

They work out of a watchtower that is hidden in a different dimension and use watch style morphers.

and that's as far as I got. Like I said I would like them to be dinos (preferabbly from the same time period) but I don't wanna rip straight off mighty morphin')

and I used heromachine 3 to come up with something of a concept for the suit (red/pink only right now) except for the helmet because those options are extremely limited

You want to harken back to old PR days then why are you doing special powers? That is exclusive to Disney PR.

I'm trying to keep the classic era look and feel but add in the usefulness of the abilities.

Abilities are only useful to inferior Rangers who rely upon them to do what Jason could do with just skill and talent.

okay i can see you feel very strongly on this subject. And while I appreciate your input. that wasn't really the intention of the question.

I was more looking for advice on which dinosaurs i should use and, since weather or not I use the powers, what weapons they should be attached to.

I may choose not to go with powers, this is just sort of a rough draft.

Just a suggestion. But how about tieing this into MMPR or DT somehow. With a former Ranger as mentor or something.

these are the rangers emblems and a concept of the red ranger zord, if anyone thinks of a better source of power than amber feel free to comment as well.

also there has been a change to the line-up, it will just be 4 rangers to start
red
pink
blue
yellow

since these are all based on real ppl the green ranger doesn't liek dinos, and didn't want to be a small rodent. so he'll either end up being the 6th(5th :P) ranger or a kamen rider.

unfortunatley my team has changed thier mind.

Like I said these story is going to be based on a real group of people and their likes and dislikes. So I was having an artist draw these they changed thier minds and so the whole premise :P
