In my opinion, the Power Rangers gone too far with too many seasons now. Last season SPD wasn't much of a great season but some episodes were good like Dino Thunder crossover episode and they really should have make Tommy be there too because he is the mentor and he took Zordon's place after he died and Tommy is the best ranger ever! :P SPD's last episode as a movie with all the previous power ranger teams, MMPR to PRDT should had the saga end pretty good. Okay, Power Rangers Mystic Force that is crazy and that is going too far. I don't care if Super Sentai has over 30 shows but in America, Power Rangers just need to end. It is getting hard to keep up and it's passed the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' and Star Trek's season limits. Don't get me wrong Power Rangers are great superheroes like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Justice League (DC Superheroes), Teen Titans (DC Superheroes), and the Avengers (Marvel Superheroes). Well I will watch Power Rangers Mystic Force anyways even if they gone too far. I hope Power Rangers Mystic Force will be a better season than SPD or else it will suck or be crapy. They need to start making the Power Rangers Generations Volume/Season DVD collection sets not a single episode DVD.

To actually address the topic of PR gone to far, in my opinion PR should have ended with Lost Galaxy. PR after that has become a translation not an adaptation.
|
If you think the power rangers should of ended already why the hell are you at a power rangers board? |

Personally, I think it was inevitable. As switching to the Sentai Method was probably cheaper and more practical. Plus it solved the problem of replacing actors. Since PR isn't a show where anyone would want to preform on for too long. Boom, you get rid of the cast after the season is over and start over with a new team. This works fine since PR 's target audience stays with it for two years before they "grow out of it". There have been plenty of seasons beyond Galaxy that have been worthwhiled. LR-SPD have each had their moments. My personal favorite was Time Force. I think PR can continue to go on strong for years to come as long as it is profitable and in the hands of people who understand it. I do wish they would be more orginal and not copy the sentai plots so closely. Thats one thing Doug Sloan and Ann Austen ( Execultive Producers of those two seasons who one worked on MMPR-Turbo) tried to get away from in NS and DT. |
Even though I don't understand all the words in the post I agree. Although some people miss the orginal cast it can't stay like that forever just the natura of the show. I think some incarnations have been good and some have been crap. I haven't watched all of them but I can tell you that I think SPD sucks. Anyway, I think the changes in it keeps it alive, keeps it fresh and running. Its kind of like fads gone by like Pokemon. Some probibly would say they shouldn't make anymore its no longer huge, or at the incarnation of what it was when it was big, but people still like it. I think thats what matters. |
i really think it all started to go down hill after turbo. thats when i lost intrest in it because it lost its natural touch as a good show. but you gotta love youtube.com with all the old episodes that they have.

I like MMPR-Turbo but think Space-MF is more mature and better written. MMPR-Turbo is more like a popcorn movie. Its pure fun for for the most part. It was after this that the writting for PR improved and tried to tell more of a story. Sure NS-MF seem more childish than Space-WF at times, but it still has not reverted all the way back to MMPR camp levels. |
I wish that there was Season DVDs instead of those 5 episode ones you can get, like nobody is going to buy that, and it only started with Wild Force, and those had like 2 episodes in them, and I don't even know if half of the people here even know that it existed, but if you could buy a DVD set of like all of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, or MMPR Season 1, DVD set, and then MMPR Season 2, DVD set, and so on, for like all the seasons or at least the first 6, I know I would buy it for sure. I have tried hopelessly to find stuff like that, but they don't exist, the most I could find was a video of MMPR with ONE episode on it, thats all, and it is next to impossible to find it, so if anyone has connections to whoever sells or produces Power Rangers, please suggest this idea to them.

um all i got to say is if you have bittorrent go to www.mininova.org and search power rangers you can download a lot of the seasons there. Granted your not paying for them. YOu don't get a bunch of extra features but you do get the episodes.
|
I won't get nailed for doing that, will I? Plus I'm on a cruddy dial-up connection and it sucks big time.
|
Exactly, one of my points, if they don't put them on DVD, people are just going to get them illegaly, so they will make more money if they start selling them now. Instead of that Power Rangers: The Ultimate Rangers: The Best Of Power Rangers, with 1 or 2 selected episodes of 5 seasons, because after awhile, I got very bored of the same episodes over and over again.
|
So you are saying Disney is loosing money by not making it, which is true. Yet you forget one simple factor just because they make the boxsets doesn't mean they will make money. They would have done the math already, and the math doesn't mean profits for Disney, and no profits means no product.
|
Setting out single-episode discs aren't going to rake in the dough either. You would waste more money packing 25 mins worth of an ep on a single full-length disc than filling it up with say, seven eps per disc. I like how they are doing Gargoyles, now out is season 2 vol.1, and I strongly believe the PR series should follow the same suit.

Not really, because they probably haven't considered the fact that many people are downloading it, and that many can be buying it, if they put them on DVD sets, by like each volume. Many shows could've made money doing that, but they haven't, and once the DVD became so popular and so well known MMPR was long over, but if someone gave them the idea now, they may consider it and do it, for example the show Frasier, is on DVD sets and so is The Simpsons, but those shows are still on tv so they would put them on DVD, but MMPR is like 15 years old, and DVDs are like 5 or 6, so.
If you would buy the DVD sets of MMPR by season not single episodes, PM me. I might be able to find a way to give the producers of Power Rangers to make them if I get enough people who would buy it. |

Agree or not that is your idiotic opinion which I care none for. But you will learn economics and you will shut up about bullshit that is economically unfeasible. |

Just what are you trying to accomplish anyway, besides being the biggest troll? |

The DVD argument has gone on for a long time in the fandom. Beleive me you are not the first one to bring this up. It comes up all the time. I agree, it is a shame that we don't have boxed sets of Power Rangers seasons. But there is no indication that we are going to get them anytime soon. But than again never say never. I assure you Disney knows about us older fans and our wishes for DVD's. They even know about the downloads. Rangerboard is well known by even the cast and crew. The fandom's voice is heard. Even if they don't always listen to us. |

http://rangerboard.com BTW, ITunes are selling pr episodes ( I believe individually for like 2 bucks). I think you play them on ipods. But I don't know much about Itunes to really explain. Its something new. |

But your right, we're all entitled to our opinion here and I doubt any of us will really change the others. But I suppose this board would be pretty boring if everyone agreed on everything. |

I think the reason why they haven't made any box sets of the old stuff is that, Power Rangers, got bought by Disney :( and before that, it was Saban that owned Power Rangers, but still, its not fair, like, I really really want their to be the old stuff on DVD
|
Give it time. I'm sure they will work on it.
