What if the Zeo didn't leave?
Lets say the Zeo team doesn't leave in the middle of Turbo. In this senario JDF doesn't want to leave and their is no cast change. How long do you think this cast would have lasted before there was a full reboot?

Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
If JDF wanted to stay on they would have kept him on indefinitely. I am not sure about the rest of the cast. But I assume that there would be small yearly cast changes. Just like there was beforehand. It seemed like at least one Ranger was replaced every season at that point.

Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
It would awesome if Tommy and everyone not named Kat stayed. But I would have been okay if Kat was the main villian in Space

Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
They should have left after Zeo itself. So Turbo could have been an exact translation of Carranger.

I really wish they could have done a Zeo Season with that cast.

Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
They should have just let JDF go after Zeo and hired Austin full time to replace him.

Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
I think they would have been better off hiring Amy . That may have enticed Jason to remain on for a few years.

Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
The cast change was inevitable. There was a massive creative behind the scenes shake up that lead to them wanting to completely turn the page. Zeo's bad ratings already caused some of that going into Turbo. Plus the old cast was getting too old to play teens and there characters aged out afterwards.

Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
Doing another Zeo season instead or Turbo would have been a no-brainer. I like the jdea of replacing Jason with Austin if the latter really wanted out

Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
Yes I think Tommy and Kat would have been replaced in Zeo Season 2 with Jason and Emily. Zedd and Rita would have been the main villians. They would have taking control of the Machine Empire.

Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
It was time to replace the cast anyway. However, they should have done the "Passing of the Torch" episode in a "Ninja Encounter" episode style at the beginning of the second hlaf of the season, so the new cast could be introduced. Give a full 3-part season finale for Zeo, then include T.J, Carlos, Cassie, Justin and Ashely in the Turbo movie, with the old cast making cameo appereances in the first three PRT episodes to fill in the story gap between the end of Zeo and the movie and explain why and how did the recurring characters from Zeo become Turbo rangers.

Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
I don't think they wanted to change casts until mid Turbo and after the production changes. Thats why it was so rushed.
|
Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
Tommy and Kat were already leaving pre production change. Ashley and Carlos were going to replace them with Adam and Tanya remaining. And Justin of course.

Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
The series needed the cast change. Both creatively and for business. The actual changeover could have been done better. But it all worked out in the end.

Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
They should have reunited the MMPR cast and brought back the original powers.

Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
I enjoyed Zeo, felt like a natural progression from MMPR but the switch to Turbo felt rushed and badly done.
The cast change wasn't so bad, just a bit hurried. I enjoy In Space however so i guess Turbo will always be viewed in my eyes as a difficult transition series. They changed to many things in a short time frame for my liking. |
Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
I can't picture Space without the Space Rangers. Who were really the first team I followed closely anyway.
|
Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
The Zeo Cast wore out their welcome and aged out. It was time to replace them in Turbo.
|
Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
It would have been awesome if the Zeo Team stayed on for a few more years Zeo was the best series by far.
|
Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
If Saban wasn't too cheap to give them raises, maybe they would have stayed.
|
Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
It would of been nice is someone from MMPR season 1 or 2 stayed till In Space so the show ended with a Ranger who'd seen it all (or most of it) before they went down the route of a cast change every season.
Alas it wasn't to be and Turbo was a much needed shake up and a season of change i guess, for good or bad. Only so long people will stick with a show where almost every episode follows the same basic plot, so it's natural ratings dwindled. The cast ages and so do the fans, new shows come along and take viewers, etc. |
Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
The Space Cast was better in my opinon.
|
Re: What if the Zeo didn't leave?
Zeo should have lasted for at least three seasons like MMPR. If not longer.
