Power Rangers is Not Going Animated
 

We are still getting threads asking about animated PR. I'm not going to make it a rule not to make them. As I hate boards that do stuff like that. But I thought maybe a sticky thread would help inform PR fans not in the know, that the animate cartoon isn't happen.

Basically, it was heavily rumored that a cartoon was going to possibly replace Live Action. We don't know how close this was to happening. But we do know that it isn't happening now. As 09 PR has been confirmed to be live action for months now. So there is no Power Rangers cartoon, only Live Action.

PA, do you want to add anything that I may have forgotten?

I also would like to point out I doubt Power Rangers would go Anime anyway. We've had 15 generations of LIve Action from MMPR to RPM so given that I also feel that Power Ranmgers will stay live Toei is finished with it and then live action might be over. Toei has done 33 shows as of next year so I think we'll hold here in the US. People love live action Power Rangers way too much.

could this cartoon thing still happen after 2010,
I was thinking it could work as a stand alone cartoon series
and have the live action series still show,
it would problematically fail more that way through.

Its hard to say. I don't think the plan was ever to have live action and animated. The animated idea was concieved to cut costs. The issue is that PR is getting more and more expensive to film. But its impossible to say just what the future will hold for PR. Other then that we know we are getting a live action series in 2009.

It's not too smart to make it animated, and perhaps Disney realized this and canned it, which is why we are getting RPM (if that is the permanent title) next year. I hope they will start filiming at least in widescreen. I'm not going crazy for HD, but I would like it Widescreen please.

I for one will not give up power rangers,
even if it does become an Animated series
we don't know how good it would be but it could
be a bit better since the morphing sequences could be done
differently I am all for this the live - anime series is great but it is waring
thin this new animated series could revive power rangers,
or it could fail either way it will be very different approach to power rangers

Better animated than cancelled, but can we please just stop talking about it since it most likely isn't going to happen. PRangerX, could you please just close this thread, but keep it a sticky so everyone's aware of what's happening?

Well since Rider Power is a forum than it'd be cool to keep this thread open for discussion... that's what forums are for. Besides, this topic has been risen throughout the whole fan community yet there's still discussions going on about it. Might as well keep it open.

I don't really see the need to close this thread. If anything discussion on the animated rumors ( which there are nothig to now) will be kept to this thread. Which is fine. Even if the animated rumors are nothing to worry about now. Thanks for your input though.

If their had been a animated series, what if they did what season three of Digimon did and say that the animated series was the "Real World" and the past sixteen season had just been a TV show?

There is your good share of PR anime threads around where you don't get any official word, but do look at the thread I linked to you. A January thread here started by Poweranimals, indicates PR 2009 would be live action. As others mentioned the news was indeed "vague".

An animated Power Rangers series is a possibility and we're not saying it won't ever happen. There's always a chance, just not for 2009. No one can say for seasons beyond next year's... only when the time comes.

Well put, thats exactly where things stand right now. I wasn't saying it could never happen. Just that the talk of it happening isn't there right now. I can't say whether it would be an option down the line. But like said above, we know live action will continue in 09.

Why are people saying "anime" when it clearly wouldn't be one anyway?

It's always a possibility even though I could never see Power Rangers be animated since it's always been live action. PRangerX created this thread to inform everyone that, even though for a while now, animated rumors have been debunked. No one has to think PR 2009 is going to be animated.

We should just treat it as a possibility for future seasons after 2009. Until that time comes nothing can be for certain. Perhaps one day we'll see an animated PR series, but not next season. ;)

Power Rangers appeal is live-action. Animation would kill it, for me anyways. The main reason I am against an animated show is for the fact that Disney plans to continue the adventures of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. NO! Disney - NO!

Saban's series need to remain untouched. We've seen how Disney does with plots and continuations. I for one am against this atrocity happening.

Don't you dare sully the name of MMPR. If you ever do animated leave Saban's series alone!

We don't need Disney destroying what was the best.

That was actually never said to be a lock. They did a piolet based on that but I believe Toei and Disney were unhappy with it.

I still would think this animated series if ever one would be ok,
I was never saying that the live - anime would stop completely
but I don't think that if this series ever gets made that it is likely
that the live - anime at this point will be no more or
be very little left of it
power rangers still has some life left in it yet
the final series might not happen for many many years to come
but when it eventually ends it will either become an animated series
or will just end if that was the case then the animated series
would be the only option for the series.
