To the Tenth Power Message Board
Does anyone remember The To The Tenth Power Message Board? I never went there but was wondering about what it was like?

Re: To the Tenth Power Message Board
Wow, that was like 10-15 years ago.
Anyway, it was pretty much The Rangerboard of it's time (arguably bigger). Mark Oxman, the original writer of the Power Rangers online newsletter, used to frequent it, as well as the guy who took over after him. There was also the IRC channel that SirStack and Funaro and that entire crew used to hang out in |
Re: To the Tenth Power Message Board
Wasn't Symbolic Agony a mod there? Who owned it and what software did they use? I know their is some new version that is pretty dead. But I heard it isn't the actual original.
Are you sure you're not mixing up the Zeo and PRO newsletters? Mike Oxman did the Zeo one and Mike Wayne PRO newsletter. I wouldnt bs surprised if they both were there based on what you told me. Plus I remember Wayne mentoning Tenth Power at PRO Ezboard after it closed. PRO benefited from its closure too I believe. |
Re: To the Tenth Power Message Board
I'm sure I posted there fifteen years ago, so yeah, I remember.
If I asked whether anybody remembered Brainscare's Power Page message board, I'm sure that would be asking too much of people's memories |
Re: To the Tenth Power Message Board
Was this the same website that did the April Fool's prank in 2001 saying there was going to be a new PR movie with ALL the characters, where Marc Blucas (Riley from Buffy) would play Leo from LG... totally fell for that

Also, I'm not sure who "Mike Oxman" or "Mike Wayne" was, but Mark's newsletters can easily be viewed at https://www.grnrngr.com/documents/po...ers-newsletter. There's an entire archive. I also found a partial archive of the second set of newsletters at http://www.angelfire.com/ca4/home/archives.html. I know some of the staff of Mark's newsletters and some of the crew from that irc channel worked on both of these. There was also Amit Bhaumik, who actually went on to write for PR. I miss those days. The fandom seemed so much more close-knit, especially with the newsletters...and I found the old e-mail rpg site, too: http://www.angelfire.com/sk/futureshock/ A lot of these old sites still seem to be active. |

Didn't realize Tenth Power was an irc channel. Always thought it was a free message board on some early service. I know who Amit is. Quote:

Anybody whats the story with the current Tenth Power thats up now? Was it a ailed attempt to start over? There was another major board owned by someone named Cynthia right? Connected to a site called he snow fields. That also covered digimon. Mostly fan fiction. |
Re: To the Tenth Power Message Board
Astroranger's board was originally known as just that, but was then renamed TTTP. It was originally an InsideTheWeb message board, but then they went defunct around either late 2000 or early 2001. It has been around since at least 1998, but I started going there in February 1999. I forgot what it changed to though, but it's not one of the formats that you usually see.
Cynthia Harrell used to run the Angel Grove Youth Center board. I'm not sure how long that has been around, but that also used the InsideTheWeb format up until it ended. Then it used either the vBulletin format or the EZBoard format. |
Re: To the Tenth Power Message Board
I remember Astro Ranger's board (Kris). I don't know if he's on here anymore.

Re: To the Tenth Power Message Board
Man, y'all are making me feel old, because I was on both Astroranger's board/TtTP and Cynthia's board around '99-2000 when I was in college (I used a different screen name back then). All I remember then is what still seems to stand now--I maybe had a couple friends/acquaintances, but I never really fit in anywhere. :/

Re: To the Tenth Power Message Board
Hard to think of an era before the Rangerboard era of message board.
