Why did Zordon replace the Turbos
 

It seemed odd that Zordon and Dimitria replaced the Turbos with Rookie Rangers in the middle of an invasion by Divatox. The idea of setting the Rangers free was kinda weak. Since the priority should have been protecting the world. Its not like Zordon expected the Rangers to stay if they needed to leave. Why not at least wait for them to want to lead?

yea the idea would've worked better if the Blue Senturion's Millennium Message was fixed and they heard the news like was originally scripted.

Zordon was a nice guy and new that the teens had to get on with their lives. He also knew they would pick fitting replacements. Even if the writers didn't make them as good as the originals. It is a shame the actors had to leave but I understand the in universe reason. At least we got Tommy back later on.

Zordon most likely knew about the Message and felt it was better to move on to the new team. Zordon probably had everything carefully planned out through Space. Getting captured just through a wrench in things.

The Turbo Rangers started to ask too many questions. Zordon liked to have Rangers that followed orders and probably felt it was best for new blood.

I don't know what Zordon was thinking. But I really don't know what the producers were thinking. Why right off fan favorites who were are only link to MMPR.

I hated to the see the originals go. But I guess it couldn't be avoided.

They weren't using the old cast well enough. It was time for a change.

The whole thing was pretty rushed. I guess we know why they change casts so much now. When they tried to go year to year, it seems there were a number of sudden unplanned cast changes that left them scrambling.

Yes, this has to be one of the main reasons. Zordon couldn't have a team asking too many questions. Dimitria also couldn't control them.

The show already jumped the shark for me. Zordon would never have released the Rangers in MMPR. It made no sense in Turbo. It was bad enough most of the originals were gone.

I think it worked out for the best. Since the new Turbos ended up being great in Space.

I agree about the Mellenium Message being a reason to change Rangers. It ended up working out in PRIS.

Turbo was just a lost cause. The cast change was done at a bad time. And the in show reason made no sense.

JDF wanted to leave at that point in time so they just opted to replace all of the veterans because of which. Some say Catherine wanted to leave but she went on record as saying it was untrue.

Also I don't know how true this is BUT there were rumors circulating that JDF wanted to leave in Zeo but the crew threatened they'd fired the rest of the team if he left so they worked out a compromise.

Actually he did give the Rangers the option to retire in "Doomsday". And he let the original Rangers each leave for personal gain. Only Aishia left for an ultra important reason.

Saban made the decision to go younger and start over . He made the write decision in the long run. As he wrote some of his finest seasons with Space, Galaxy, and Time Force.

Frank and maybe Sutherland wanted to leave, so they decided to start fresh.

I prefer to think Zordon took them back to Eltar for a secret mission.

The writers wanted to add better characters. It was almost worth sitting through Turbo's second half to see the Space Rangers origins.

In story, I suppose Zordon figured he needed better Rangers

It is pretty odd how the old Ranger teams were supposee to always be teenagers. But plenty of the later teams have been older.

I think it was Dimitria's idea and Zordon just went a long to not undermine her authority with the Rangers .it was a bad decision to replace the old Rangers. They would have not lost to Divatox and been able to rescue Zordon quickly. The Space Ranges failed to even rescue him.

The Turbo Powers could only be used by teens or preteens in Justin 's case

He wanted them to make the most of their lives. Zordon cared about the Rangers personal opportunities more than any mentor that followed him.
