Bandora's Ghost 03/14/17 02:26 AM

Bandora

She seems like a very interesting villain. As her origins and plans seem much more dark than Rita. Yet she has the same whacky tendencies and has a whimsical side to her. Almost like she is both a funny and serious villains. Its interesting how Zyuranger presents her in this way. She is a unique villain in a lot of ways.

Re: Bandora

She definitely has more depth that Rita yet still has the same silly side. Zyuranger is very much the same way with a lot of its elements. As it has a lot of silliness mixed in with serious situations.

Never knew Bandora was so interesting.

Re: Bandora

She is what Lothor should have been and they failed.. Bandora was perfect for the kind of villain she was supposed to be. Rita lost a lot of Bandora's depth.

Re: Bandora

Rita could have benefited from this type of backstory. They might not have needed Zedd if they made Rita a little darker. I'm still glad we got Zedd though.

Re: Bandora

Bandora could have been so much better. Especially with her darker origin. She was still more interesting than Rita who didn't have the great back story.

Re: Bandora

She really was a well nuanced character. You wouldn't get that if you just saw the footage without understanding the language and the backstory.

Re: Bandora

I wonder if some of Bandora's origins will be used for the new Rita? Or at least based of them?

Re: Bandora

Sometimes they are able to get away with darker elements in Sentai. When MMPR was done PR wasn't dark at all.

Damn imagine if they would have used Kai?

That would be cool, and I agree about wanting to see Rita have Bandora's tragic back story but I think more than anything I would have just liked to have Lokar be Rita's boss instead of just a really powerful minion.

Re: Bandora

Kai as the original evil Green Ranger would have made a lot of sense.

Re: Bandora

I wouldn't want to lose Tommy Oliver though.

Green With Envy 03/15/17 10:11 PM

Re: Bandora

I meant he would have been before Tommy and possibly after "Green Candle". I'm not saying there should have been no Tommy.

Re: Bandora

It would have been more doable than using some evil kid who dies in the source footage.

Re: Bandora

I think the producers were foolish not to use Kai. I wouldn't have had him become Green though.

Bandora was definitely different from Rita in a lot of ways. She is actually more like Dayu.

Re: Bandora

I didn't know that Bandora had such a dark backstory. I should check out some Zyuranger.

Re: Bandora

it was kind of odd how she was just imprisoned instead of killed like most villains.

They really made you feel sorry for her. Except for you know, the part where she was trying to destroy the world.

Re: Bandora

That doesn't really leave her in a sympathetic light.

To be fair I do think it's possible to feel bad if something bad happens to someone, and still not think it's okay if they do bad stuff to other people.

Re: Bandora

Villains with sympathetic backstories doesn't make their actions justified, it just makes there characters deeper.

That sounds pretty dark to me.

I like Bandora more because she was so whacky. I am glad the whackiness carried over to Rita.
