Why do some people want PR to be all serious?
 

This is Power Rangers. The last thing we need is something that's uber serious. I think that PR has suffered for it a bit in the past. MMPR was created for fun and I think that's when PR is at its best is when it can bring out its fun side. Granted, it's nice to have some serious moments here and there, but we don't need Rangers who whine the whole season. Leo and Andros come to mind. As much as I loved Space, Andros half the time whined about Karone and Leo about Mike. Maybe it's just me. It's nice to have a balance. Dino Thunder was the perfect blend of seriousness and comedy.

Anyone else agree?

I think there diffinitly should be balence. Don't want too much camp or too much comedy. I want the stakes to mean something but diffinitly don't mind some light heartness. Ninja Storm did a good job with this. Especially at the end when Lothar became more of a menace. Really Space did this too. Since it was serious yet still felt like the characters were having fun.

Power Rangers is typically better when it is serious (Time Force, Wild Force just to name a couple) but that's not to say some seasons aren't as good just because they're not serious. MMPR season 3 is a decent season even though it's goofy.

I tend to like the more serious seasons but I can take a joke too.

I completely agree that the show is better when it is a serious or darker season but not always. I'm not a big fan of the goofier seasons though.

Whacky Power Rangers is when it is at its best. Its not good when the show is too serious.

I like the more serious seasons. Seasons like Space, Galaxy, Time Force, and RPM are some of my favorite seasons. I do agree there should be a balance. And I am not saying their can't be humor. Plus I am certainly not talking about super dark PR.

I completely disagree. I think Mesogog said it best in regards to Lothor but Lothor was pathetic.

I just want fun adventure type PR. I want there to be drama, action, and a little comedy. The ability to be an exciting adventure if the strength of the franchise.
