I think Zordon's son was the one who created them from metal. Reason for create them is to fight Rita, Divatox and Zedd. The Dark Specter with the help of the Master Vile turn them against it's creator. They were the ones who sealed Zordon's son into a capsule of sorts.

Maybe Thrax can have a rivalry with Zordon's son. We know he goes back in time at some point or his origin doesn't make sense..

I guess you have to make Rita Green given the new movie. Even though its not in continuity. But she has the Green Coin in MMPR so it makes sense.

Zedd is the Red Ranger but who should be the other color rangers?
