Could Zordon really take away their powers?

Zordon warned the originals not to break his three rules or risk losing their powers. Could Zlrdon actually strip a Ranger of their powers on command?

I think it would have taken the other Rangers to take the offending Ranger's coin away. There was no killswitch for the powers.

of course he could since they could force them to teleport to the base and take their powers away from there if they had refused to just hand them over

Why didn't he do that to Tommy then during the Evil Green Saga?

1. he wasn't the one who chose him.
2. Tommy would still be evil so there'd be the concern of him trashing the base like he did before
3. it's also possible Zordon and Alpha didn't have a link to the 6th Coin until he teamed up with the team
4. another theory is that it's possible Rita blocked any possibility of Zordon or Alpha deactivating Tommy's grid link

I agree, Rita had control of those powers. So Zordon couldn't take them away. But it turned out to be hard for Rita too lol.

I do think Zordon had away to take the powers away from his Rangers. But its funny he needed a special sword to actually transfer those powers. So if his Rangers all misbehaved he couldn't just select new ones.

not quite right about the Sword of Light it was only required because Zack, Trini and Jason were leaving hence why they went to get the Sword I think it was more like a way to protect against an overload. The Rangers could've passed on their powers on their own but because too many were doing it at once the grid would've been overloaded so they kind of used the Sword as an energy source to help in the transfer so that it would stabilize the grid.

I think he was just trying to motivate the Rangers to play by the rules. He couldn't force a Ranger to give up their powers. He just made sure he picked teens that he felt would follow the rules.

exactly he didn't mind if something happened that broke the rules he just wanted to ensure that their identities would be safe so that it wouldn't interfere with their mission on top of which using your power for personal gain is a bad quality and could be construe as evil.

The escalation rule is just about a code of ethics if the villains escalate then it's fine for you to escalate too and if there's no other choice but to escalate against a strong being then that's fine too.

I always wondered about this myself. Maybe he could cut them off from the Morphing Grid?
