The changing casts of the Zordon Era
Did the cast changes show how much the show was willing to grow and evovle? It really felt like
they had a strong long term plan. |

Re: The changing casts of the Zordon Era
I disagree. There were no long term plans with the cast changes. The first cast change occurred at the last minute due to a pay despute. Austin, Walter, and Thuy tried to go on strike..And were dismissed. Look at how they had to scramble for to make the episodes work without them. Amy Jo decided to leave. She got a good send off but it wasn't planned ahead of time. Karen Ashley decided to leave and they barely gave her character a goodbye. The original Turbos were only written out because Frank was leaving. And most of them didn't even find out until the last minute.

It was all a fly by the seat of the pants lets go with what you got. MMPR offensive had the producers flying by the seat of their pants. Its amazing they got through the interim period before the Ninja Trio were added to the show.

It actually fit Zordon's character though. Since he viewed the Ranger as expandable and got rid of Rangers that didn't serve his agenda anymore.

It was all a happy accident. It wasn't some master plan to grow the show.
