Does Netflix make DVDs not as important?
Now that every season of PR is on Netflix, does it make having PR DVDs less of an important issue? I mean in the digital age a lot of things are available through streaming. Without the trouble of having to buy and take care of DVDs. With every season of PR on Netflix is arguably better then having DVDs.
I'm actually still in favor of them producing boxed sets ( makes too much business sense not to and still will be attractive to collectors. But I felt this was an interesting discussion. |

No, it doesn't. I still feel the release of every episode on DVD is very important. Not every fan can access Netflix not to mention the fact that Netflix is just an American company.

Indeed there's still things I would buy DVDs for like deleted scenes, commentary, etc.

Definitely. It would be awesome to get commentaries as well as all deleted scenes. Not to mention bloopers and footage that was shot that we didn't get. Also it would be a great way to release the uncut Zyu2 footage as well provided they can even find it.

The ONLY time I get digital copies is when it comes free for buying the Bluray/DVD.
I will never pay for a digital copy, digital copies are free and will always be free in this house. If they want my money they better damn well be prepared to actually spend some money themselves. |

Re: Does Netflix make DVDs not as important?
Indeed. I agree with you, Kamen Rider Decade. I would never buy a digital episode either. In order to get my money or in some cases my family's money, they'll need to release seasonal DVD boxsets with special features. Granted I'll probably end up buying the seasonal boxsets regardless but it would be a better option for Saban Brands to release seasonal DVD boxsets of every season with bonus features on them such as deleted scenes, commentaries with cast and/or crew as well as the uncut Zyu2 footage as well as possibly the uncut Zyu 1.5 footage.

The world is going towards streaming though. Its quite possible that pay streaming services will one day replace cable and DVDs/Bluerays. Its already starting to replace cable for some people.

Then they shouldn't have established that streaming nor digital copy is free from the get go then. |
