Weight and See
9/6/10
For some reason the Turbo episode "Weight and See", really sticks out in my mind from that season. I think the reason why is because sooner or later I was expecting them to do an episode where a girl ranger was worried about her weight and went on a diet. Every season I thought, it's going to come up sooner or later. Power Rangers loves its stories with a moral, and so many shows have an episode where a character goes on a diet. Plus it's something the villains wouldn't resist exploiting. So when "Weight and See" started, and the girl was picking on Kat and saying that she was "bigger than most" I thought, they finally did it. I'm wondering why they didn't have the "character goes on a diet" episode sooner. When I think of characters that would be perfect for such an episode, the first one that comes to mind is Kimberly. With her whole valley girl persona and all the time she spent worrying about her image, it would have fit to have a season one or two episode where Kimberly was worried about her weight and Rita or Zedd exploited that. I'm wondering if they just couldn't think of the right Zyu footage to use. The only monster I could think of that might fit would be to reuse Pudgy Pig somehow. |

Re: Weight and See
Its been awhile since I have seen the episode. But that episode really stuck out to be as well at the time. Its diffinitly a subject that was worth addressing. They could have done something with Kimberly. I guess they just wanted to be safer and not go so controversial.

Re: Weight and See
Oddly enough Amy Jo Johnson the actress who played Kimberly did a made for tv movie called Perfect Body where she played a Gymnast with an eating disorder right that came out right around Turbo.
