Was TJ demoted to blue in Space because he lost the two Turbo Megazords?

No, they joined Andros's team, not the other way around. It wouldn't make sense for Andros to just up and give his personal morpher he had for 2 years to a guy he just met.

Plus, Andros knew more about Space. It was nothing to with TJ's ability to lead. Andros all always valued TJ's wisdom. Plus TJ often showed his leadership skills in Space.

TJ did get a little careless with the Megazords. But Andros wouldn't have known that. So I think it was more about the Turbos joining Andros's teams. The real question is why Andros just happened to have four extra morphers.

Losing Megazords is not grounds for demotion otherwise Tommy would have been demoted for doing the same thing. TJ just became the technical second-in-command because they were joining up with Andros who knew more about things in space than they did so it made more sense to rely on Andros as their official leader rather than TJ.

TJ had choice but to destory the Megazords. They were facing a terrible
foe who was almost unbeatable. TJ had no choice to act the way he did. If they didn't than they would have lost everything to Divatox and there would have been no Space Rangers. Since Andros would have failed on his own.

Who was their to demote him? The Rangers were on their own. TJ just took the powers that were given to him. He was always Red at heart. He was included in FR afterall.
