Why wasn't Maya a Ranger when she was younger?
Well I was looking at my PRLG tapes, and I came across an episode with
maya and her young friend who was really a monster.Maya had a dream and asked her do you remember the time when tried to pull the quasar sabres.Well when maya tried at that young age nothing happened, so how could it happen when she was older? |

Maybe because she tried pulling the Red, Green, Blue or Pink Saber. Also
maybe because the Sabers were timelocked so that only when all the chosen were present could they be removed. |

Well, Little Maya said she thought it budge....most likely it did. Perhaps when she was younger she didn't have the strength to fully pull it out. The most obvious reason I can think of is the Legend of the Quasar Sabers. The choosen ones would pull the Quasar Sabers and fight off the evil beings bringing peace for a thousand lifetimes......that's basically what is said. At that time I assume there was no evil presence on Mirioni and thus no reason for the Quasar Sabers to be pulled. BTW, the episode you are referring to is "Memories of Mirinoi" and her friend's name was Shondra |

Maybe Maya never tried to yank the yellow one.

Her's friend's I believe didn't even budge. |

Re: Why wasn't Maya a Ranger when she was younger?
Maybe she was too young when she tried to pull it. I'm not sure
about the "wrong saber" theory, I think her as a young girl would be curious and try to pull all 5. I think the time theory works, as she may have been too young as Miko said and couldn't handle the powers. But if she did somehow, they wouldn't last like in that VR Trooper episode where the 3 were turned into kids and they could transform but only for like 10 min or something. |

Re: Why wasn't Maya a Ranger when she was younger?
This delighful little paradox fits in with all the other delightful little
paradoxes like... How was Diabolico able to contact Cpt. Mitchell if he was still entombed? If the rangers never rescued the galactabeasts, how exactly does that expalin their signature animal on their helmets and sabers? And where exactly DID the turbo powers come from? Not to mention how was it possible to see Earth so close-up from Jupiter's moon (not that I don't already know this one Sentai). It's PR's little way of confusing all the kiddies out there into trying to deduce it to death. But frankly, you can't explain it. So don't even try to answer it. It's just an error on Saban's behalf. Be safe! |

>paradoxes like... >How was Diabolico able to contact Cpt. Mitchell if he was still entombed? Given that he was never seen in a physical body as he was in the later episodes, I don't necessarily see a contradiction here. There's no way of knowing for certain Lynn doesn't intend to address the physical "presence" of the demons even when out of sync with reality. Bansheera cannot enter the Earth Realm until Grand Cross, but we can't be certain she doesn't physically affect things with her presence on Earth. I mean, isn't that basically what she did in "Rising from the Ashes?" Is Diabolico stealing a young boy's soul away from his father any different? He didn't do anything ELSE. >If the rangers never rescued the galactabeasts, how exactly does that expalin >their signature animal on their helmets and sabers? I get the impression Lynn was intending to address this during the aborted Ancient Rangers Saga, given the fact that the Dairanger uniforms DO NOT share the same totem animals as the five Gingaman outfits. In fact, wouldn't that, if anything, demonstrate the fact that the Quasar Sabers take on a new power system for each of their various incarnations, right down to appearance? The Guardian of the Book implies a greater destiny in store for each incarnation. So once the Dairanger-suited team dies, their templates in the hilt of each Saber are reset. The series gang was DESTINED to free these particular Galactabeasts. Since the PRLG team's destiny was NOT in fact completed, demonstrated by PRLG/PRLR, they could once again release the swords and morph into their own forms. Perhaps one their mission is once and for all completed the Sabers will reset. >And where exactly DID the >turbo powers come from? They were conjured forth by the writing department from an unknown source, given the fact that second season Zeo was not yet in production at the time of T:APRM's production. They had no idea for certain just what to do with the show yet, like they could directly tie it all into a season which didn't exist yet? They did as much as they could, even if Good as Gold provided no significant transition into the film, they still tied up as much of the plotlines left from PRZ as they could, because by now Sloan and his staff had to know they wouldn't get a chance to tie it all up once the film came and changed the status quo of the series. Clearly Billy's disappearances were meant as a dodge. Judd Lynn provides a second possible explanation in Chase into Space, when Justin refers to Eltar as the "source of our powers," and also in the fact that the loss of the Turbo powers occurs not after the Power Chamber explosion; the costumes maintained cohesion and protected the teens from otherwise fatal injury, but after the confirmed fall of the planet Eltar. >Not to mention how was it possible to see Earth so >close-up from Jupiter's moon (not that I don't already know this one Sentai). And if they had made Ganymede into Luna, we'd have had even more complaints about the fact that in all this time, Rita and Zedd or the Machine Empire had never tried to take the NASADA facility. Minimal security, responds to Ranger energy signatures... Certain sacrifices have to be made to accommodate the footage without invalidating PR's own individual continuity. I'll give you another example- Grand Cross from GoGoV. Once that footage runs we will have visual canonical confirmation that Nemesis, which has been in orbit since season one, and remained visible in the US Moonbase starfield afterwards, and might have even been PRLG's "practice moon," is now gone. Now, you can say Nemesis is there afterwards, maybe even show it again, and I would accept that... You can't always perfectly utilize Sentai footage and still maintain flawless American continuity. You have to make accommodations one way or the other. I'd rather have Ganymede with a disproportionately big Earth off on the horizon than a super-busy Luna. It's like Metallasaurus jumping back and forth between modes depending on the footage used, or the haphazard Lights of Orion armor seen on the Rangers inside the cockpit of the Galaxy Megazord in Power of Pink. Like any television show, PR's reality is determined by production issues and footage problems. PR just has the added hard time of needing to try and use Sentai footage without stepping on their own toes in the process. >It's PR's little way of confusing all the kiddies out there into trying to >deduce it to death. But frankly, you can't explain it. So don't even try to >answer it. It's just an error on Saban's behalf. Be safe! Oh, for the love of god. If people want to try and deduce something, they sure as hell can. Nobody is trying to befuddle anyone here, it's an honest mistake. Every single television show has them to varying degrees. Either you file it away under suspension of disbelief and move on to something else, or you think up a clever way of explaining it. Either is perfectly fine. There's no ulterior motive on anyone's part involved... And don't you hate PR? Haven't people driven you out of here time and again? Why are you still here, exactly? |

Kinky? In what way? All I said was that maybe Maya had a strong
aversion to Yellow, never got around to yellow, or heard her mom calling before she got to yellow. |

I thought so, but I just felt need to explain my message.
