Power Rangers Samurai Shows Brand's Longievity
Power Rangers Samurai Shows Brand's Longievity
by: Chris "PRangerX" Zunis 1/27/11 Power Rangers Samurai is set to debut Monday, Feb. 7, 2011. With regular episodes airing on Sunday afternoons. This means the return of Power Rangers to first run TV. And proves that Power Rangers as a brand is far more then just a any short lived TV Show. When rumors of Power Rangers impending cancellation began to break in RPM, many fan began to worry about the future of the franchise. As ratings and toy sales had been on the downward slide for quite some time. With RPM's regulation to the weak ABC Kids Block and exclusion from Disney XD, it seemed like Power Rangers wasn't a priority for Disney. This seemed especially the case when the remastered reruns of MMPR Season 1 flopped on ABC Kids. Many fans feared that Disney had given up on the franchise , one that they probably never understood fully to begin with. To these fans Power Rangers was going away and never coming back. As long as Sentai lasted in Japan, Power Rangers will last just as long in America.

I wouldn't say that. Power Rangers was canceled for a year. And may have been gone longer if Saban hadn't bought the show back. I do think that the brand will go on for a very long time. Since its very established. But it won't just for the sake of the Super Sentai.
