Did Jason, Zack, and Trini keep their powers?
In the power transfer episode, the three departing Rangers are still morphed when they teleport away. We know Jason has the Red powers for "Forever Red"' . So it seems like the three kept their powers and just had them copied over.

I don't think so. They demorphed once they left the command center. It was just risidual energy. If the Sword of Light could do that them it would have been able to create a Ranger army.

I think their morphers were shut off. Since the grid couldn't take duplicates for one team. Just like there couldn't be two White Rangers in DT. This is why creating a Ranger army would have been moot.

No I don't believe so. Yes it's true Zack, Trini and Jason were still morphed but when stripped of your powers in morphed form (especially in the case of the ones powered by the Power Coins) it takes some time for a human body to lose that energy much like what happened with Tommy when he gave up his Dragon Coin while he was still morphed granted it took him a lot longer to lose that residual energy compared to the others.

Maybe the powers were deactivated for several years. And Jason got his activated before Forever Red.

We know there can't be too much pink energy in the wild west episode. Plus the White Rangers in DT couldn't coexisit. The morphing grid wouldn't be able to keep the original and replacement Rangers in MMPR. So even if they kep their powers the original's grid taps would be turned off.
