Why wasn't Maya a Ranger when she was younger?

Well I was looking at my PRLG tapes, and I came across an episode with
maya and her young friend who was really a monster.Maya had a dream and
asked her do you remember the time when tried to pull the quasar
sabres.Well when maya tried at that young age nothing happened, so how
could it happen when she was older?

Maybe because she tried pulling the Red, Green, Blue or Pink Saber. Also
maybe because the Sabers were timelocked so that only when all the chosen
were present could they be removed.

Yes, the obvious answer of her being too young makes the most sense here.

The whole point of the scene was that it was a nudge to the idea Maya was destined to be Galaxy Yellow from the beginning.

Well, Little Maya said she thought it budge....most likely it did. Perhaps
when she was younger she didn't have the strength to fully pull it out.

The most obvious reason I can think of is the Legend of the Quasar Sabers.
The choosen ones would pull the Quasar Sabers and fight off the evil beings
bringing peace for a thousand lifetimes......that's basically what is said.
At that time I assume there was no evil presence on Mirioni and thus no
reason for the Quasar Sabers to be pulled.

BTW, the episode you are referring to is "Memories of Mirinoi" and her
friend's name was Shondra

The sabers weren't meant to be pulled yet and Maya wasn't ready.

All the Galaxy Ranger s should have been part or the tribe like in Gingamen. Except the tribe should have been from an Earth Jungle.

It would make little sense for a kid to become a Galaxy Ranger when their isn't even a threat.

I grabbed some pics and here's the verdict.

Based on the 3 pics it seems like Maya was trying to pull out the Saber that chose her in the end when she was younger but obviously she wasn't strong enough either to pull it out or because you needed to be at a higher age in order to wield the awesome might of their powers since she does mention that she thought it budged whereas Shondra tried pulling out the one that apparently chose Damon in the end.
