I don't remember if we had a general thread for this or not but we can always move it if one of us find it again but I thought this would be good to let everyone know.

"“Power Rangers” has been delayed from July 22, 2016 to Jan. 13, 2017, effectively moving from summer to a less-crowded frame."

I get this feeling that Liongate believe that the Power Rangers movie might not be a big hit.

I don't think that has anything to do with it I think it's just a number of factors one of which is that the movie has been slow to develop with them just hiring a Director... another thing is that they likely decided it would best to delay it so that it's not up against stiff competition that will more than likely definitely make it fail.

In July '16 they would have needed to face Star Trek Beyond, Ice Age 5 and Ghostbusters (female Ghostbusters that is) which wasn't a wise move to begin with anyway.

Delaying it to January '17 is a great move since January is typically less crowded with stiff competition.

Its not like they filmed the movie and thought it was gonna flop and pushed it back. That's a real bad sign. But this thing hasn't even been produced. Maybe there are problems behind the scenes. Or perhaps its just the director thing. But there is still plenty of time to get this project together one way or another. I am glad they aren't rushing it either.

This thing just isn't gonna work. Its going to bomb harder than the Turbo Movie.

If they were smart they'd just nix the whole MMPR stuff and just do a Space Movie. Sure the general public knows MMPR more. But the space aspects could really carter to the casual audience.

Well I think as Lionsgate has faith in Power Rangers we should not lose faith.
