MMPR Remastered Discussion
Well with RPM and first run Power Rangers finished, its already time to get ready for remastered MMPR. Which begins airing next Saturday on ABC Kids. We won't use this thread to discuss it the whole year. I plan on making weekly episode threads as they air. It will be fun to go back and watch the old episodes. I got a kick out of the commercials trying to make it sound like Rita is back and is trying to change history. Its a clever way of marketing the reruns as something new. Which it will be to a whole new generation. It will be interesting to see how MMPR does in the ratings versus what RPM did..

Re: MMPR Remastered Discussion
I just got finished watching it and was so irate at the "revisions" I had to find a message board to rant to.
What was up with the Batman-esque "Zonk"s and "Sweep!"s? NOT cool ABC! I could live with the comic strip additions so long as they were tags for the end of a segment or just an intro to the characters. But they added too much. All they really had to do was roll the tape. The additions take you right out of it. They're distracting and take away from the show instead of add to it. |

Re: MMPR Remastered Discussion
I agree, the new graphics are too distracting. And the batman style battle text is worse. I think it has a lot to do with today's standard's and practices. They are probably trying to cover some of the battles that they deem too violent. Notice how most of the graphics show up during the Putty battles or when Bulk and Skull get roughed up. I know there are other times when they show up as well. But I still think its mostly a standards and practices issue.
That said it could have been much worse. There are portions of the battles that don't have them. Most of the episode is left unaffected. But I think the changes they did make our distracting. Hopefully they don't increase as time goes on. |
